Martin Damm enters the Winston-Salem Open round of 64 as the clear favorite against Abedallah Shelbayh, bolstered by a recent three-set victory over the same opponent on hard courts in Washington qualifying on July 26. Damm, ranked near 94, holds a superior main-draw hard-court record compared to the lower-ranked Shelbayh (around 253). Both 22-year-old players bring mixed 2026 form into this outdoor hard-court ATP 250 event, with limited prior history between them. The matchup favors Damm on ranking, experience, and head-to-head momentum, though Shelbayh has shown competitive sets in recent encounters. No major injury or withdrawal reports have altered the field ahead of the scheduled Monday start.
