Vilius Gaubas enters the US Open qualifying first-round match against Kilian Feldbausch with a higher ATP ranking near No. 123 and greater overall experience, including prior Grand Slam appearances and a career-high of No. 101 earlier in 2026. The 21-year-old Lithuanian holds a stronger hard-court record and more main-tour exposure than the 20-year-old Swiss, ranked around No. 235, though Feldbausch posted a superior 2026 win rate across fewer matches and strong Challenger results. No prior head-to-head exists, and both players have limited recent hard-court data ahead of the outdoor hard-court encounter at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Gaubas’s recent main-draw losses contrast with Feldbausch’s deeper runs in European events, creating a closely contested qualifier where ranking edge and break-point efficiency could prove decisive.
