Jessica Pieri (WTA ~335) faces Mina Hodzic (WTA ~298) in the first round of the ITF W75 Bytom on outdoor red clay, with no prior head-to-head record. Hodzic enters with a slight edge from her higher ranking and stronger recent clay results, including a deep run to the quarterfinals at the Palermo Challenger in July where she secured multiple wins against qualifiers and lower-ranked opponents. Pieri arrives after a mixed stretch, posting wins in a W35 event in Bistrita but struggling in higher-level clay events earlier in the summer. Both players maintain solid career records on clay, though the 24-year-old Hodzic’s youth and recent momentum on the surface shape trader consensus around a competitive opener where small edges in form and ranking influence implied probabilities.
