Sijia Wei and Jia-Jing Lu, ranked within a few spots of each other near No. 375-398, meet in the first round of the ITF W15 Tianjin on hard courts. The 22-year-old Wei, a former top-120 player with multiple ITF titles, brings recent hard-court experience from Chinese events and qualifiers, though her 2026 results show inconsistency outside lower-tier stops. The 36-year-old Lu, a veteran with a career-high of No. 162, has posted solid wins in recent W35 hard-court events in North America while splitting results against comparable opposition. With no prior head-to-head and both competing on familiar home soil, trader consensus reflects a tightly contested matchup shaped by age, recent form on the surface, and draw positioning in the small-field event.
