This market will resolve to "Yes" if a Western team beats a team from the LCK, LPL, or LCP in a best-of-five series during the Demacia Cup Global Invitational 2026, currently scheduled for October 3 to October 17, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A Western team is a team that qualified for the tournament through the LEC (Europe / EMEA), the LCS (North America), or the CBLOL (Brazil). Teams that qualified through the LCK (South Korea), the LPL (China), or the LCP (Asia-Pacific) are not Western teams. Only best-of-five series count toward this market; best-of-one and best-of-three matches, tiebreakers, and showmatches do not count. A team beats another team in a best-of-five series only if it wins the series (three game wins); individual game wins within a series that the team loses do not count. Knockout Stage series count toward this market; Swiss Stage matches are best-of-one or best-of-three and do not count. If the results of the Demacia Cup Global Invitational 2026 are not determined by October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the tournament is canceled or postponed past that date, this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizers, TJ Sports and Huya. However, a consensus of credible reporting (e.g., Liquipedia at https://liquipedia.net/leagueoflegends/Demacia_Cup_Global_Invitational/2026) may also be used.**Western teams hold a near-even implied probability of securing a Bo5 upset against mid-table LCK, LPL, or LCP squads at the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational because the field consists of non-Worlds qualifiers rather than regional elites.** The October 3–17 event fields three LCK teams (KT Rolster, BNK FearX, Hanjin Brion), three LPL sides (including LGD Gaming), two LEC and two LCS representatives (fourth- and fifth-place finishers), plus GAM Esports from the LCP and the CBLOL fourth seed. This mix narrows the traditional East-West gap, as these squads finished outside their regions’ top four and lack the depth or momentum of Worlds-bound rosters. The hybrid format—online Swiss stage (Bo1/Bo3) feeding into offline single-elimination Bo5s in Beijing—further levels the field, while the new coach-comms system may reward teams with strong macro preparation. Recent regional summer results and any late roster adjustments or patch shifts before the draw could quickly move the market either direction, as could early Swiss-stage form that reveals stylistic mismatches in the knockouts.
