The 2026 WSOP Player of the Year race remains exceptionally tight at the top, with Shaun Deeb holding a slim points lead over Naoya Kihara and William Foxen after strong summer bracelet performances in Las Vegas. Deeb's multiple final tables and consistency have kept him in front, while Foxen and Kihara's deep runs and high-stakes cashes have narrowed the gap to just a few dozen points. The new global format incorporating WSOP Europe in Prague and WSOP Paradise adds significant remaining upside, rewarding players who can sustain form across international stops and accumulate top-15 scores. This setup favors consistent high-volume contenders over single-event standouts, leaving the outcome highly sensitive to late-series results and explaining the bunched implied probabilities among the leaders.
