Luke Littler enters Players Championship 27 as the clear world number one and two-time defending PDC world champion on the back of a dominant 2026 season that includes multiple major titles and record averages. The 19-year-old faces 16-year-old PDPA Associate Member Archie Self, a promising youth standout and recent WDF World Youth champion whose senior Pro Tour experience remains limited. Trader consensus at 99.5% for Littler reflects the substantial gap in ranking, consistency, and match-play pedigree. Realistic scenarios that could shift the outcome remain narrow and include an unusually strong performance from Self combined with an uncharacteristic off day for Littler, though such variance has been rare in Littler’s recent head-to-head record against lower-ranked opponents.
