Growth has slowed or turned negative in early 2026 across several mature states, with Q1 volumes down roughly 2% amid maturing customer bases and reduced promotional intensity. The 2026 FIFA World Cup on home soil generated record soccer handle through the summer, with USMNT matches and extended tournament schedule lifting volumes significantly in reporting states. NFL betting remains the largest seasonal driver ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, while Missouri's late-2025 launch added incremental scale and California and Texas continue without legalized sportsbooks.
