Recent JOLTS data showing stabilization near 7.3 million after May’s elevated 7.537 million level underpins the dispersed Polymarket odds for August 2026, with July printing 7.271 million on a revised June base of 7.182 million. Trader sentiment incorporates the August employment report’s +162,000 payroll gain and unchanged 4.1% unemployment rate, alongside cooling quits at 3.056 million that point to subdued worker mobility. Sector swings in durable goods manufacturing and healthcare, combined with steady but non-accelerating private-sector demand, create the competitive spread across 7.0–7.6 million brackets ahead of the September 29 release. Market-implied probabilities reflect this balanced uncertainty rather than a clear directional catalyst.
