Liga MX's Apertura 2026 regular-season race for second place remains tightly bunched after five matchdays because no team has separated itself in the tabla general, with América atop the standings on 13 points while Atlas sits second on 12 and a cluster of sides including Chivas, Toluca, Puebla, and Tijuana sit on 10. Guadalajara's recent 5-2 home victory over Tijuana and Atlas's strong run have lifted both clubs into the market's top tier of implied probabilities, yet Monterrey's attacking output and Cruz Azul's lingering injury issues plus three straight losses have kept their odds competitive without establishing clear separation. The long remaining schedule, variable form across the 18-team field, and potential for mid-table sides like León or Pumas to surge mean traders price a wide-open contest for the runner-up spot, with the leading probabilities clustered in the low double digits reflecting that broad parity.

In the event of a tie, this market will resolve to the team officially recognized by Liga MX as finishing in second place in the Apertura final phase. If multiple teams are officially awarded second place, the market will resolve to the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed club to finish 2nd in the 2026 Liga MX Apertura competition (e.g. they are mathematically unable to achieve enough points), the market will resolve to "No".
If the 2026 Liga MX Apertura is cancelled, postponed after December 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no 2nd place team declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The primary resolution source will be official information from Liga MX. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
