Liga MX's Apertura 2026 remains tightly contested for second place after five matchdays, with Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Cruz Azul holding the highest implied probabilities due to their squad depth and mixed early results. Chivas has posted strong recent form, including a 5-2 win, bolstered by reinforcements and continuity under Gabriel Milito following a solid prior campaign. Monterrey benefits from Matías Almeyda's arrival and attacking output, while defending champions Cruz Azul face early inconsistencies and potential roster changes like Erik Lira interest from abroad. América's league-leading start and teams like Toluca and Atlas add to the parity, as historical depth across the league and unpredictable short-tournament dynamics keep multiple contenders viable for a runner-up finish.

In the event of a tie, this market will resolve to the team officially recognized by Liga MX as finishing in second place in the Apertura final phase. If multiple teams are officially awarded second place, the market will resolve to the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed club to finish 2nd in the 2026 Liga MX Apertura competition (e.g. they are mathematically unable to achieve enough points), the market will resolve to "No".
If the 2026 Liga MX Apertura is cancelled, postponed after December 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no 2nd place team declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The primary resolution source will be official information from Liga MX. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
