The Chicago White Sox hold the clearest edge in the AL Central race thanks to their current standings lead and superior run differential entering the final month of the 2026 regular season. With a record near 68-62, they sit 3.5 games ahead of the Cleveland Guardians and have posted consistent results against divisional opponents while benefiting from a deep farm system featuring high-upside prospects. The Guardians and Twins remain within striking distance but trail in wins and show weaker recent form, with the Twins hampered by a negative run differential. Detroit and Kansas City sit further back, limiting realistic paths to the division title absent major late surges. Trader consensus reflects these on-field gaps and the compressed schedule window.
