As the 2026 MLB regular season heads into its final six weeks, the wild card races in both leagues remain tightly contested, with multiple teams separated by just a few games in the standings. The Milwaukee Brewers hold the top NL spot while the Tampa Bay Rays lead the AL East, but clubs like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, and Boston Red Sox are jockeying for division titles and the three wild card berths per league. Recent August trade deadline moves, including the Dodgers' acquisition of starter Tarik Skubal and the Red Sox adding catcher Adley Rutschman, have shifted roster strength and momentum for contenders. Remaining schedule strength, bullpen depth, and injury recoveries will continue to influence which clubs secure the 12 postseason spots.
