In the early stages of the Apertura 2026, Guatemala’s Liga Nacional remains highly competitive, with Antigua GFC, Municipal, Guastatoya, San Pedro, Mixco, Comunicaciones, and others clustered near the top of the table after just four or five matches. Antigua GFC’s perfect record and strong goal difference highlight current form, yet Municipal’s depth and recent title pedigree, alongside Xelajú MC, Cobán Imperial, and Aurora FC’s historical presence, prevent any clear separation. Coaching adjustments at several clubs and balanced results across matchdays underscore the parity, keeping runner-up probabilities tightly bunched as no team has established sustained dominance heading into the longer regular season and liguilla phase.
