PSG enters the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign as clear frontrunners for another title and automatic Champions League league-phase qualification, bolstered by Ferran Torres and their back-to-back European success. Early matchday results show Marseille, Lens, Lille, and Lyon claiming strong opening wins, keeping them competitive for the top spots that secure direct or playoff entry. New coaching setups at Lille and Monaco, combined with squad adjustments elsewhere, introduce uncertainty in form and depth. Schedule congestion, injury reports, and the September Champions League group phase start will test rotation and momentum, with historical patterns favoring established sides but allowing mid-table challengers realistic paths through consistent home results and favorable head-to-head fixtures.
