Alex Palou holds a dominant position in the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series championship standings, leading by over 130 points with just four events remaining after multiple victories and poles this season. His Chip Ganassi Racing Honda has delivered consistent results across street courses, road courses, and ovals, including strong qualifying form that has limited opportunities for challengers like Kyle Kirkwood, David Malukas, and Christian Lundgaard. This performance gap, built on superior pace, strategy execution, and reliability, has driven the market's overwhelming consensus around his fifth title. While a late mechanical failure, crash, or unprecedented points collapse by Palou combined with flawless runs from the field could theoretically alter the outcome, the current margin leaves little realistic path for any other driver to close the gap before the Milwaukee doubleheader and Laguna Seca finale.
