The 2026-27 NB I season has opened with notable parity across the table, as early results show Puskás Akadémia, Újpest, Győri ETO, MTK Budapest, and others separated by just a handful of points after five or six fixtures. Multiple clubs enter with comparable squad depth, recent transfer activity, and historical podium contention, while Ferencváros balances domestic fixtures against European commitments. Defending champion ETO faces added fixture congestion after its title-winning campaign, and promoted sides like Vasas add further unpredictability to the mid-table scramble. This broad distribution of realistic paths to third place—driven by form fluctuations, injury management, and the league’s overall competitiveness—underpins the tightly clustered trader consensus across the listed contenders.
