This market will resolve to "Yes" if OpenAI completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO) by the listed date ET, as confirmed by official company announcements and credible news sources. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The IPO refers to the first sale of stock by the listed company to the public on any recognized stock exchange. If OpenAI is acquired by another company that is already public, this market will immediately resolve to "No." The resolution source for this market is a consensus of credible reporting.OpenAI confidentially filed its draft S-1 registration statement with the SEC in early June 2026, initially positioning the company for a potential late-2026 IPO with lead banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Recent internal updates have shifted momentum toward 2027, as CEO Sam Altman and CFO Sara Friar indicated the listing would occur “when it makes sense” or in 2027 (or sooner if revenue inflects), aiming for a $1 trillion-plus valuation amid heavy AI infrastructure spending. The firm generates roughly $2 billion in monthly revenue—driven by ChatGPT subscriptions and enterprise API usage that now exceeds 40% of total—but remains unprofitable. Competitive pressure from Anthropic’s parallel IPO preparations and the need for substantial capital in the large language model race further influence timing. Key near-term catalysts include quarterly revenue trends, new model releases, and any governance or regulatory developments affecting AI deployment.
