Growing operational ties, including Tesla-supplied batteries and components, a framework agreement, and SpaceX’s absorption of xAI, reinforce synergies in autonomous driving, robotaxis using Starlink connectivity, and large-language-model infrastructure. SpaceX’s June IPO eased valuation comparisons, prompting analysts to cite 80–90 percent odds of a combination by 2027, while regulatory hurdles around Tesla’s China operations and required shareholder approvals remain key swing factors. No formal announcement has occurred as of late August, but upcoming earnings calls or Terafab milestones could shift market-implied odds.
