Recent FOMC actions to hold the federal funds rate steady at the 3.5–3.75% target range, most recently in a 9-3 July vote with three members favoring a 25-basis-point hike, underpin the 70.5% implied probability of Pause–Pause–Pause across the June, July, and September meetings. Elevated inflation readings and resilient labor market data have tempered expectations for easing, while forward-looking projections from economists point to policy on hold through year-end. Upcoming September data releases on CPI, PCE, and employment will serve as the next key catalysts that could shift market-implied odds if they materially alter the inflation or growth outlook.
