Israeli forces have maintained a roughly 10 km security buffer zone in southern Lebanon since earlier in 2026, including operations and demolitions in the Tyre district such as Mansouri, while conducting repeated airstrikes and artillery on Tyre city itself amid the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. A fragile U.S.-backed ceasefire has held with violations, including Israeli drone and ground activity near ridges like Ali Taher and Hezbollah responses, but no confirmed large-scale ground entry into Tyre proper has occurred despite evacuation orders and infrastructure targeting. Netanyahu has stated forces will remain until Hezbollah threats, including remaining rockets, are addressed, while Lebanese officials and the group emphasize adherence to withdrawal terms. Trader consensus on entry by a given date reflects this buffer-focused posture, ongoing low-intensity clashes, and diplomatic pressures rather than urban maneuver.
