This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Mississauga, Ontario as a result of this election. Crombie’s return after her 2024 resignation and provincial Liberal leadership bid has sharpened the contest into a two-way dynamic, as both candidates highlight overlapping priorities around property taxes, housing affordability, community safety, and transit reliability while appealing to voters seeking change versus continuity. City councillors Dipika Damerla and Alvin Tedjo trail with lower single-digit to low-teen support in the same survey, limiting their ability to fragment the vote. With nominations closed and roughly two months remaining, undecided voters and any late shifts on local issues such as crime or fiscal pressures could determine separation among the 14-candidate field.
