Both teams enter the 2026 season with comparable projected records in a competitive AFC West, driving the market's heavy lean toward a split. Denver returns Bo Nix from offseason ankle surgery with an elite defense that led the NFL in sacks in 2025, while Los Angeles benefits from Jim Harbaugh's physical style, Justin Herbert under new coordinator Mike McDaniel, and a top-tier unit despite the loss of coordinator Jesse Minter. Preseason developments include Nix's sharp early returns and Chargers center Tyler Biadasz's indefinite absence with a knee injury, but neither side shows a clear edge in head-to-head history or roster health that would favor sweeping the two meetings. Trader consensus reflects this parity, with the split viewed as the most probable outcome absent major injuries or form shifts.
