Recent polls for the September 6, 2026, Sachsen-Anhalt Landtag election show the SPD consistently ahead of the Grüne at 6-7% versus 4-5%, a gap that has held across multiple surveys from INSA, pollytix, and Infratest dimap through mid-August. Both parties face pressure near or below the five-percent threshold amid broader voter shifts toward the AfD and away from the incumbent CDU-SPD-FDP coalition. No major recent policy announcements, candidate debates, or national events have narrowed this margin or boosted Green support relative to the Social Democrats in the state. Trader consensus reflects these stable polling patterns and the structural challenges smaller parties encounter in eastern German state elections.
