This market will resolve to "Yes" if Donald J. Trump, as President of the United States, signs into law a bill that lowers the corporate tax rate in the United States below 21% at any point by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." Note that the cut does not need to go into effect before the resolution date - it just needs to be signed into law by then. This market's primary resolution source will be official information from the Trump administration, however a consensus of credible information will also be used. In August 2026, traders see little prospect of further corporate tax reductions before 2027 because the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law in July 2025, already made permanent the 21 percent corporate rate along with key business provisions such as 100 percent bonus depreciation and R&D expensing from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. That legislation, advanced through budget reconciliation with narrow Republican majorities, focused on extensions and targeted relief rather than additional rate cuts. With the 2026 midterm elections now approaching, divided government or legislative gridlock would likely block any new corporate tax legislation in the remaining months of the 119th Congress, leaving the rate unchanged through the end of 2026.
