The EU’s treaty architecture, single-market integration, and eurozone framework drive the 97.9% trader consensus against dissolution before December 31, 2026. No member state or major political force currently pursues collective repeal of the founding treaties, while exit rules remain limited to individual Article 50 notifications rather than bloc-wide dissolution. Recent continuity in fiscal surveillance, energy-security flexibility measures adopted in August 2026, and ongoing negotiations for the 2028–2034 multiannual financial framework reinforce institutional resilience amid migration, defense, and geopolitical pressures. Low-probability shifts could still emerge from synchronized sovereign defaults, a sudden treaty renegotiation triggered by multiple simultaneous exits, or an external shock compelling realignment, though none of these appear imminent within the remaining resolution window.
