The Democratic Primary is scheduled to take place on September 9, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democrat sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.Four Democratic candidates—Kim Ahern, Keith Hoffmann, Jason Knight, and Joseph Solomon Jr.—compete in Rhode Island’s open-seat attorney general primary on September 9, 2026, after incumbent Peter Neronha reached term limits. Recent televised debates and an early August forum revealed broad agreement on core issues alongside differences over surveillance cameras, courtroom experience, and responses to federal policy shifts. Ahern holds a fundraising lead and higher market pricing, yet all contenders lack statewide name recognition, keeping implied probabilities clustered. Early voting that began August 20, additional endorsements, polling movement among Democratic primary voters, and sharper differentiation on criminal justice or regulatory priorities could widen gaps before ballots close.
