If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the government of Alaska, specifically the State of Alaska Division of Elections.**Alaska’s August 18 top-four open primary for governor features a crowded 17-candidate field replacing term-limited Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy, with the top four advancing regardless of party to a ranked-choice general election.** Early results show Democrats Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins and Tom Begich leading at roughly 21.6% and 20.1%, followed by Republicans Bernadette Wilson and Dave Bronson near 10.4% and 8.4%. The fragmented Republican vote across a dozen candidates allowed the two Democrats to consolidate support and secure the top spots, while Wilson and Bronson emerged ahead of other GOP contenders such as Treg Taylor and Click Bishop. Mail-in ballots continue to be counted through August 28, with final certification expected August 31—the same deadline for any top-four finishers to withdraw, which could elevate the fifth-place candidate. Pre-primary polling and candidate positioning centered on name recognition, endorsements, and issues including energy costs and fiscal policy.
