This market will resolve to Yes if the US Congress overrides a presidential veto by December 31, 2026 at 11:59PM ET. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No". Passage of a veto override by only one Chamber of Congress shall be insufficient to cause this market to resolve to "Yes". The resolution source will be official U.S. federal government publications (e.g., Congress.gov) however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. **Unified Republican government under President Trump has limited congressional willingness to challenge vetoes, sustaining the 93.7% trader consensus against any override in 2026.** Early in the year, the House sustained two December 2025 vetoes on targeted measures by margins well short of two-thirds. Later disputes, including the June standoff over a bipartisan housing bill that passed with broad support, prompted presidential pressure on unrelated priorities like voter ID legislation rather than formal vetoes. Ongoing budget and impoundment tensions have produced no override attempts reaching the required supermajorities. With aligned party control, the two-thirds threshold in both chambers remains a high barrier absent major bipartisan defections.
