ABC World News Tonight with David Muir has anchored recent weekly averages near 8.4–8.5 million total viewers, with individual episodes reaching as high as 9.063 million during the prior week of August 17. This steady performance as the top-rated evening newscast, combined with modest day-to-day fluctuations on a routine news cycle, positions the 8.5m–9m bracket as the market favorite. Traders note ongoing year-over-year gains and the potential for a single high-profile story to push one telecast into double digits, keeping 10m+ as a meaningful secondary outcome while lower brackets reflect baseline expectations absent major events. The week of August 24–30 remains early, leaving room for late developments to shift momentum before Nielsen reports.
