**ABC World News Tonight with David Muir** anchors the market because it has held the Nielsen linear top spot for 18 straight weeks with consistent 8+ million P2+ viewers in recent live-plus-same-day measurements, including 8.436 million the prior week. In the summer off-season, when most scripted series are in repeats, linear evening newscasts deliver the highest single-program totals on the chart that resolves this market. Traders see little upside from specials or sports during Aug 17-23, which keeps implied probabilities concentrated in the 7–10 million range and favors the 8.5–9 million bracket as the consensus outcome. Nielsen’s Thursday updates will confirm whether any late-week developments shift the final figure.
