This market will resolve according to the winner of the Democratic Primary for Governor of Connecticut, scheduled to take place on August 11, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 Connecticut Gubernatorial Democratic Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the Connecticut Democratic Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Ned Lamont's decisive victory in the August 11 Democratic primary, where he defeated challenger Josh Elliott by roughly a two-to-one margin with approximately 67 percent of the vote, underpins the market's near-certainty on his nomination. As the two-term incumbent seeking a third term, Lamont secured the party endorsement at the May state convention and benefited from broad support among Democratic voters, including those favoring his record on budget management and pandemic response. This outcome aligns with historical patterns for incumbents facing limited primary opposition. Remaining uncertainty centers on final vote certification or any procedural challenges, though the substantial margin makes shifts unlikely absent extraordinary developments before the November general election.
