Mohammed Umaru Bago, the incumbent APC governor of Niger State, holds the leading position in the 2027 gubernatorial election market due to his unopposed affirmation as the party's consensus candidate during May 2026 primaries across all 277 wards. APC structures, including North-Central stakeholders, have pointed to his administration’s infrastructure projects, agricultural programs, and the party’s sweep of all 25 local government councils in late 2025 as key factors reinforcing state-level dominance. Opposition figures such as ADC nominee Mohammed Kpautagi and PDP’s Abubakar Suleiman encounter significant structural barriers from the ruling party’s early ticket consolidation and Bago’s retention of his deputy as running mate. Trader consensus in the market reflects these incumbency and party-consensus dynamics ahead of the February 6, 2027, vote, with limited recent catalysts altering positioning.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Niger State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.

This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results published by Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian government sources.
