Les Républicains currently hold the largest Senate group with roughly 130 seats, of which 77 face renewal on September 27, 2026, through an electoral college of municipal and departmental delegates shaped by stable right-leaning results in the March 2026 local elections. Trader prices cluster tightly in the 121-128 range because recent contests produced no major redistribution of local official support, with offsetting gains and losses across departments and structural advantages for established center-right networks limiting net movement. Modest uncertainty stems from Rassemblement National efforts to secure enough seats for its first formal group and scattered left coordination attempts in specific rural and southern contests, though these factors have yet to produce measurable shifts in the college. Outcomes remain closely balanced as the indirect system favors continuity ahead of the October 12 resolution date.
