Hsu Shu-hua, the incumbent Kuomintang magistrate of Nantou County, holds a commanding lead in trader consensus for the November 28, 2026, election due to her established record since taking office in late 2022 and consistent party backing in a county with historical KMT support. Recent KMT candidate rallies and primary processes have reinforced her position without notable internal challenges, while opposition figures such as Wen Shih-cheng register minimal implied probability. Nantou's local voting patterns often favor incumbents with strong constituent ties, and no major scandals, polling shifts, or national political disruptions have altered this dynamic in recent months. Factors that could narrow the gap include a late surge in Democratic Progressive Party mobilization, unexpected candidate withdrawals, or broader turnout changes driven by legislative or presidential developments before election day.
