She formally launched her re-election bid in May 2026 after winning the 2023 by-election, leveraging her record on housing, transit and public safety initiatives. Recent polls from Liaison Strategies show her leading main challenger and city councillor Brad Bradford by 8–11 points among decided voters, though the margin has narrowed from earlier surveys and the city remains split on its overall direction. Chow strengthened her campaign organization by recruiting centrist Liberal strategists as co-chairs to broaden appeal beyond core progressive supporters. Bradford and other declared candidates, including former federal Conservative Chris Alexander, have not closed the gap in polling or fundraising momentum. Nominations closed August 21 with no major late entries disrupting the field. These factors underpin the wide spread in current market odds ahead of advance voting in October.
