Víctor Robert De La Cruz Rosas leads the Trujillo mayoral market at roughly 60% implied probability ahead of the October 4, 2026, vote, reflecting trader assessment of his position as a sitting La Libertad regional councilor running with Podemos Perú. Fifteen candidates registered with the JNE in June, including incumbent Mario Reyna Rodríguez (APP) seeking re-election after assuming office via vacancy, former congressman Carlos Alva Rojas (Acción Popular), ex-regional vice president Víctor León Álvarez (Renovación Popular Perú), and others such as Roy Arbaiza Corcuera and Luis Zavala Espino. Early August polling showed mixed results, with one survey giving Reyna the top spot near 34% and another APP-linked poll placing De La Cruz ahead at 23.5%; campaign activity since then, including De La Cruz’s public events on culture and local outreach, appears to underpin the market’s assessment of his frontrunner status in a fragmented field.
