Eurozone annual GDP growth for 2026 trades with an overwhelming 78.1% market-implied probability on the 0-1.0% band, reflecting consensus forecasts clustered around 0.7-0.8% from the ECB’s June projections and professional forecasters. The outlook incorporates downward revisions tied to the Middle East conflict’s effects on energy prices and export competitiveness, alongside modest quarterly momentum—Q2 expanded 0.4% quarter-on-quarter and 1.0% year-on-year, buoyed by Spain and Ireland distortions but offset by weakness in Germany and France. Recent August PMI readings signal some resilience in new orders and exports, yet persistent inflation volatility near 2.9% and labor-market caution continue to anchor trader expectations below 1% for the full year, with limited scope for upside absent sustained geopolitical de-escalation.
