Recent polls for the September 20, 2026 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election show the AfD leading with around 36% and the SPD in second at 29%, leaving third place a close contest between Die Linke at 11% and the CDU at 10% in the latest INSA survey. This narrow edge for Linke over the CDU, consistent across mid-August data, underpins trader consensus pricing Linke highest for third place while assigning the CDU a lower but still notable probability. Smaller parties polling in the low single digits face structural barriers to overtaking these two, keeping their implied probabilities subdued. With roughly four weeks until voting, any shifts in eastern German voter turnout or late campaign developments could alter the ranking among these contenders.
