Elif Eralp of Die Linke leads the market at 72.5% implied probability ahead of Berlin’s September 20 Abgeordnetenhaus election, as recent Forsa and Infratest dimap surveys place her party first at roughly 22%, ahead of the CDU and AfD near 18%. Her focus on housing affordability and cost-of-living issues aligns with voter priorities in a fragmented field where coalition arithmetic favors a left-leaning alliance. Incumbent Kai Wegner’s July withdrawal after criticism of his January blackout response shifted the CDU to finance senator Stefan Evers, now at 21.5%, with his party trailing in polls. Lower-priced candidates such as Werner Graf of the Greens, Steffen Krach of the SPD, and Kristin Brinker of the AfD reflect their parties’ weaker positioning and limited paths to the governing mayor post under current polling trends.
