Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads the market at 68% due to the Parti Québécois holding a consistent edge in recent polling and seat projections ahead of the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election, driven by strong francophone support. Recent candidate recruitment efforts and an open letter reaching out to anglophones have reinforced the party’s positioning, while St-Pierre Plamondon’s announcement deferring any sovereignty referendum until after Donald Trump’s presidency aims to neutralize a key opposition attack line. Charles Milliard trails at 16% as the Liberals close the gap on name recognition and policy emphasis, with Christine Fréchette at 11.8% as the incumbent CAQ leader focuses on economic stability and distancing the party from prior leadership baggage. Volatility remains possible given undecided voters and the start of the official campaign.
