Recent polling shows Sweden's centre-left opposition bloc, anchored by the Social Democrats, holding a roughly 10-point lead over Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's right-wing coalition three weeks before the 13 September 2026 election, translating into projected parliamentary majorities that position Magdalena Andersson for a return to the premiership. This gap has persisted through the summer, reflecting voter dissatisfaction with the incumbent government's handling of economic and security issues alongside stable support for the opposition's platform. Traders price Andersson at 92.5% because no comparable late swing has occurred in modern Swedish elections and only weeks remain for momentum to shift. A dramatic scandal, unexpectedly strong turnout for Kristersson's bloc, or post-election coalition breakdowns could still alter the outcome despite the current consensus.
