Recent polling averages project the CDU securing roughly 21–23 seats in the 83-seat Landtag of Sachsen-Anhalt, consistent with vote shares near 22–23 percent ahead of the September 6 election. This positioning reflects the party’s sustained decline from its 37.1 percent result in 2021 amid gains by the AfD, which polls at 40–42 percent. Minor parties including the FDP and BSW remain near or below the five-percent threshold, which influences seat allocation under the state’s proportional system. Late-campaign shifts among undecided voters and turnout patterns could still alter the final distribution within the narrow 20–22 range favored by trader consensus.
