AfD maintains a commanding lead in the September 6, 2026 Sachsen-Anhalt Landtag election due to sustained polling at 41-43 percent across recent surveys from INSA, pollytix, and Infratest dimap, nearly doubling its 2021 result while the CDU trails at 22-24 percent amid voter dissatisfaction in eastern Germany and leadership transitions within the incumbent coalition. This positioning reflects broader regional trends favoring the AfD as the strongest force, with consistent margins leaving little room for other parties to overtake it before election day. Trader consensus prices the AfD as the near-certain winner of the most seats given the stability of these figures over recent months. Late campaign developments, such as shifts in turnout among smaller-party supporters or unexpected events in the final weeks, remain the primary variables that could narrow the gap, though current data shows no such momentum.
