Recent Datafolha polling released August 22 shows Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) leading first-round voting intentions in the Federal District at 39%, ahead of President Lula (PT) at 31% and Ronaldo Caiado at 10%, with remaining candidates in low single digits or below. This positioning aligns with the district’s consistent right-leaning results, including Jair Bolsonaro’s 51.65% first-round share there in 2022. Flávio’s nomination by the Liberal Party, combined with his father’s endorsement and the area’s federal-employee and military demographics, reinforces trader consensus around his frontrunner status for first place. Lula’s lower implied probability reflects comparatively softer support in the capital region versus national surveys. Minor candidates remain at negligible levels absent polling momentum or regional organizational strength ahead of the October first round.
