Flávio Bolsonaro’s commanding position in Rio de Janeiro first-round trading reflects his status as the sitting senator from the state, his Liberal Party nomination as the standard-bearer for Bolsonarism, and recent campaign events including a large launch rally on Copacabana Beach. Local conservative voters and family political networks provide a durable base in a city where crime and security remain salient issues. Incumbent President Lula trails sharply in the market despite his national re-election bid, consistent with weaker support in the Rio electorate. Minor candidates register negligible prices, underscoring limited viability in the state’s first-round contest scheduled for October. Trader pricing treats Flávio’s home-state advantage as the dominant near-term factor ahead of the vote.
