Flavio Bolsonaro maintains a commanding position in Santa Catarina trader consensus due to the state's status as a conservative stronghold in Brazil's South region, where the Liberal Party (PL) and Bolsonaro family brand have demonstrated consistent dominance in recent cycles. Local party unity following earlier internal disputes, alignment with Governor Jorginho Mello's reelection bid, and the relocation of family members like Carlos Bolsonaro to contest Senate seats have reinforced organizational strength ahead of the October 4 first round. National polling shows tighter competition overall, yet Santa Catarina's voter base has historically favored right-leaning candidates in presidential contests. Potential shifts could arise from late national events, candidate scandals, or unexpected turnout changes among other contenders such as Ronaldo Caiado or Renan Santos, though these remain secondary factors in the current environment.
