Lebanon's parliamentary elections, originally set for May 2026, were postponed two years by parliament amid the 2026 conflict involving Hezbollah and Israel, leaving the contest for the 128-seat assembly unresolved until 2028. This extended timeline sustains a highly fragmented field where no single party holds dominant positioning, as reflected in uniformly low trader probabilities across listed contenders. Amal Movement maintains a modest edge through its longstanding role in Shia representation and parliamentary speakership continuity under Nabih Berri, alongside traditional alliances within the March 8 framework. Key differentiators include sectarian voter bases, shifting post-conflict coalitions, and potential realignments among Christian, Sunni, and Druze blocs such as the Lebanese Forces or Progressive Socialist Party. Consolidation behind any outcome would likely hinge on new electoral pacts, regional diplomatic pressures, or domestic economic stabilization efforts before the rescheduled vote.
