Morocco’s September 23, 2026, legislative elections remain tightly contested because the incumbent RNI-led coalition faces widespread voter dissatisfaction with economic conditions and governance, reflected in recent surveys showing low single-digit support and over 30 percent undecided. PAM, a coalition partner with strong organizational reach in key districts, edges ahead in trader pricing as the most plausible plurality winner, while historical patterns of fragmented results and royal influence on coalition formation limit any single party’s dominance. Recent Interior Ministry meetings with party leaders and a new 2026 law tightening party governance have reinforced expectations of managed competition rather than upheaval. With one month until voting, turnout in urban versus rural areas, late endorsements, and any shifts in Istiqlal or PJD positioning could still alter seat allocations enough to change the plurality outcome.
