Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads the market at 72.5% because recent polls show his Parti Québécois holding a consistent edge of roughly 30% support, driven by strength among francophone voters that translates into favorable seat projections for the October 5, 2026 election. Christine Fréchette, the CAQ premier since succeeding François Legault in April 2026, trails at 14.6% amid party support near 20%, reflecting lingering dissatisfaction with the prior administration despite her efforts to rebrand around economic stability. Charles Milliard, the Liberal leader since February 2026, sits at 10.5% as his party polls around 25-26% but remains concentrated in non-francophone areas with limited path to a majority. The remaining candidates trade near zero because their parties (Québec solidaire, Conservatives) poll in single digits and lack competitive positioning in key ridings. Recent pre-campaign activity, including candidate announcements and policy positioning ahead of the expected writ drop, has reinforced rather than altered these standings.
